Miracle M. Gant

My name is Miracle, and I am originally from Round Rock, Texas, a city about 20 minutes outside of Austin. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in English at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a minor in Studio Arts. This is my first year at UMaine, and I am a first-year teaching assistant. I  have a concentration in poetry and poetics, and I am passionate about composing and studying poetry. In my time at UMaine, I hope to continue my study of poetry and to understand more about the benefits of writing it for the writing process as a whole for myself and my students. I believe that poetry is the intersection of written and visual art, and in my free time, when I’m not writing, I enjoy drawing the images that inspire my work.
