Maryam Khan is originally from Karachi, Pakistan. She holds a B.A. in English from Lahore University of Management Sciences in Pakistan, where she studied revolutionary feminist writers, Saddat Hassan Manto and Ismat Chughtai for her thesis. She is currently pursuing an M.A. in English, with a concentration in Gender and Literature, at the University of Maine. Her research interests include literature of conflict and war literature, especially the areas of collective memory and trauma in the aftermath of military conflicts. Her graduate thesis focuses on the ethical responsibility of spectators during times of such violence.
She is currently working as an editorial assistant with Dr. Dylan Dryer for Written Communication.
