The fall 2025 season kicks off on Thursday, September 25, with a performance by the poet and memoirist Eleni Sikelianos at 5pm (note new start time) in the Allen and Sally Fernald Adaptive Presentation & Performance Environment of the IMRC (Stewart Commons 104). Jennifer Moxley will introduce the poet. The NWS Facebook group can be found here.
The New Writing Series was founded in 1999 to celebrate the literary arts by bringing contemporary writers to campus for live performances of new work in a variety of genres. Each reading is followed by a lively Q&A with the local community of writers. The series is sponsored by the English Department and the Center for Poetry and Poetics with support from the Lloyd H. Elliot Fund, the Eaton Family New Writing Series Fund, the Schmelzer-Livingston Poetry & Poetics Fund, and the Moxley-Evans Fund for Literary Arts.
