Bio

Katelyn received her B.A. in English and Social and Behavioral Sciences from the University of Southern Maine. Most of her research has focused on writing center studies and she has presented on different topics in this field at USM’s Thinking Matters symposium and the Northeast Writing Centers Association (NEWCA) conference. She recently authored a Tutors’ Column for WLN: A Journal of Writing Center Scholarship titled “Just Say ‘No’: Setting Emotional Boundaries in the Writing Center is a Practice in Self-Care,” which was published in WLN’s January/February 2020 issue. Since entering this program, her research interests have shifted to writing studies more generally, focusing on digital and print-based literacies, embodied cognition, and pedagogy.
